The Center for Translation and Intercultural Studies at Zhejiang Normal University is dedicated to fostering cultural exchanges and mutual understanding between China and the rest of the world. Through practices and research in translation  and intercultural communication, the Center aims to promote dialogues between civilizations and nurture professionals skilled in intercultural communication. The key research areas include:


Studies on the Communication of Chinese Modernization: interpreting the global communication and image-building of Chinese modernization by integrating theories and methods from sociology, communication studies, and discourse analysis; implementing relevant translation projects to facilitate international understanding of Chinese modernization.


China-Africa Translation and Communication Studies: undertaking practices and research in the collected translations on African cultural classics, African children’s literature, and regional studies of African nations, in cooperation with the universitys strengths in African studies.


Language Services: engaging in the translation and communication of cultural heritage; participating in the cultural translation and promotion of traditional Chinese ancient villages; undertaking training programs for foreign aid projects commissioned by the Ministry of Education and the Ministry of Commerce.
